Established in 2005, Southwest University is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of Chongqing (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education of The People's Republic of China, Southwest University (SWU) is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: over-45,000 students) coeducational Chinese higher education institution. Southwest University (SWU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study.
