  • The CPPA Regulation and How It Is Applied in CUFinder

    The California Consumer Privacy Act is a bill that improves the privacy and consumer protection rights of California residents in the United States of America. The bill was passed by the California State Assembly and signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown on June 28, 2018. This law came into effect at the beginning of January 2020.

    CUFinder is committed to enforcing this law and protecting the privacy and data of its users. This law, along with other laws governing the protection of consumer rights, includes the Connecticut Personal Data Privacy and Online Monitoring Act ("CTDPA"), the Utah Consumer Privacy Act ("UCPA"), and the United States Data Protection Act. Virginia Consumer Protection Act ("VCDPA") and other state privacy laws are applicable in the United States.

    CUFinder always strives to align with the definitions of "personal data" or "personal information" outlined in state privacy laws. This information includes all personal data that can identify or describe you and your loved ones. The only exception is publicly available information, such as your profile data on social networks, company websites, or commercial advertisements.

  • Who Are the People Required to Comply With the CCPA?

    This law applies to any business, including any for-profit entity that collects consumer data, doing business in California and meets at least one of the following limits:

    • Have an annual gross income of more than 25 million dollars.
    • Have information on more than 50 thousand consumers, households, or companies.
    • Get more than half of your annual income by selling personal information.
  • What Information Does CUFinder Collect?

    CUFinder collects and provides information such as name, surname, email address, LinkedIn profile address, website domain, and company information. All this information can make inferences about your interests and preferences as real and legal privacy for other users. Location is another piece of information that we obtain through the IPs you use.

    Company information includes website address, company size, industry, contact data, address, founded date, company connections, company employees, and associated members.

    Sensitive personal information such as account logins and passwords, financial data, or other credentials that allow access to your account are not provided in CUFinder.

  • Who Is CUFinder Data for?

    To avoid errors and disclosure of personal information, all data of individuals and companies is completely classified. CUFinder does not collect, share, disclose, or sell sensitive personal information such as race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, etc. Also, Information about minors needs to be added to CUFinder.

  • Can I Ask CUFinder to Delete My Data from Their Database?

    Any person whose related information is in the CUFinder database can request that their information be removed from our database. The information we delete includes the following.

    • Personal information we have collected about that person or company.
    • The sources we have used to collect personal information.
    • Deleting information from the Logo API service.
    • Deleting personal or company information from the CUFinder Chrome extension.
    • Certain personal information we collect about that consumer.
  • How Can I Send A Request to Delete My Information?

    To use the right to request the deletion of information, click on the "Do not sell my personal information" option at the bottom of the CUFinder home page. You will see the following message:

    "California residents and those in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland have legal rights to opt out of their business information being shared. Our commitment is that your preferences will be respected. We'll remove your profile from our services immediately while retaining only a record of any email address associated with an opt-out request for future reference. Please send your request to info@cufinder.io."
