One Dimensional Modeling Of Dielectric Barrier Discharge in Pure Oxygen at Atmospheric Pressure Using Comsol Multiphysics

This paper present a model of dielectric barrier discharge DBD describe and simulate the electrical breakdown at atmospheric pressure in pure oxygen using Comsol Multiphysics for the better understanding and explanation of physical behaviours of the existing species in gap. For this model, we prefer to simulate using the 1D geometry using physics-based kinetic methods. DBD have a several applications, such as ozone generation, surface treatment, light source and other environmental industries. This model include a numerical and chemical model. Courant and voltage characteristics presented in this paper. Density of existing and newly created species in gap also presented.

Calculation of the Electron Swarm Parameters in He/H2 and Ne/H2 Mixtures

The knowledge of all the electron swarm parameters as a function of the reduced electric field is indispensable for the fluid modeling of electrical discharge at low pressure. In this paper we present the evolution of the swarm parameters as a function of the reduced electric field in the He/H2 and Ne/H2 mixtures. For this we use a BE solver specially designed for this purpose, freely available under the name BOLSIG+, which is more general and easier to use than most other BE available solvers. The solver provides a stable solution state of the BE for the electrons in a uniform electric field, it is based on the conventional two-term approximation. The obtained results are validated through a comparison to experimental swarm parameters already exist in the literature.

A Comparison State of Charge Estimation Between Kalman Filter and Sliding Mode Observer for Lithium Battery

This paper presents a comparison of two strategies of estimation the state of charge (SOC) for Lithium-ion battery. Since the SOC cannot be directly measured, the extended Kalman filter (EKF) and modified sliding mode observer (SMO) algorithms were applied and compared to investigate the convergence, tracking accuracy and robust estimation against uncertainties. First-order Thevenin electrical circuit model (ECM) has been established to capture the dynamics of the battery and its parameters were extracted from experiment. Both algorisms are evaluated by two current profiles to show the efficiency of each one. The comparison results show the effectiveness of SMO in terms of execution time, robust estimation and capability of tracking in SOC estimation.

Mathematical analysis of NR algorithm for experimental implementation of SHEPWM control on single-phase inverter

This paper presents a simulation and experimental validation of H-bridge inverter with the implementation of a Newton-Raphson algorithm for selective harmonics elimination. Contributions are made in interfacing and programming of Arduino ATmega328P microcontroller and use it to control of single-phase inverter by selective harmonic elimination technique. Through this work, we have given a general analytical description of the total harmonic distortion and present the method of application of the Newton-Raphson algorithm for selective harmonic elimination. MATLAB Simulink used for simulation and Arduino IDE software was used to program the Arduino board. The validity of the simulation model is verified by experimental results, the inverter was realized and the algorithm control is tested, results of the simulation and realization are compared, they show the efficiency of the system analysis and demonstrate the ability of Arduino to control the inverter and to generate complex signals for the electrical systems control.

Modeling and control of 41-level inverter using best switching angles calculation method

In this paper, analysis and modeling of a single-phase H-bridge forty-one level inverter are considered. The control of proposed inverter by equal-phase and half-height methods is implemented. MATLAB/Simulink environments are used to simulate the model and show obtained results of waveforms with FFT analysis. Eventually, the total harmonic distortion obtained for each level with the two methods is presented, comparatively, for a comparison.

Modeling of Hydrogen Production by Inductively Coupled Methane Plasma for Input Power Pin= 700W

Hydrogen occurs naturally in the form of chemical compounds, most often in water and hydrocarbons. The main objective of this study is 2D modeling of hydrogen production in inductively coupled plasma in methane at low pressure. In the present model, we include the motions and the collisions of both neutral and charged particles by considering 19 species (i.e in total ; neutrals, radicals, ions, and electrons), and more than 120 reactions (electron impact with methane, neutral-neutral, neutral-ions and surface reactions). The results show that the rate conversion of methane reach 90% and the hydrogen production is about 30%.
