Peran Pendidikan Agama Islam dalam Membentuk Karakter Bangsa

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran pendidikan agama islam dalam membentuk karakter bangsa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan jenis penelitian study literature. Dimana study literature merupakan jenis penelitian dengan menjawab permasalahan yang ada dengan meninjau literatur-literatur yang sesuai sehingga dapat diberikan solusi atas permasalahan tersebut. Adapun hasil penelitian ini adalah dalam pembentukan karakter, pendidikan agama merupakan dukungan dasar yang tak tergantikan karena dalam agama terkandung nilai-nilai luhur yang mutlak kebaikan dan kebenarannya. Nilai-nilai luhur tersebut seperti, jujur dan amanah, tidak dapat dipungkiri kedua nilai tersebut merupakan nilai-nilai luhur yang mutlak kebaikan dan kebenarannya. Perwujudan nyata nilai-nilai tersebut dalam tingkah laku sehari-hari akan melahirkan karakter unggul. Pendidikan Agama Islam merupakan suatu kelanjutan dari peran agama yang tentunya bukan hanya sekedar mengajarkan tindakan-tindakan ritual seperti salat dan membaca doa, akan tetapi lebih dari itu, yaitu membentuk keseluruhan tingkah laku manusia dalam rangka memperoleh ridha Allah SWT. English as medium of instruction (MOI) in classroom activities: Teachers’ perceptions from eastern Indonesia

English as the Medium of instruction (MOI) in Indonesia has experienced up and down periods, thus affecting the teachers’ use of code-switching and code-mixing strategies. This article reports on English teachers’ perceived usefulness of English as the Medium of Instruction (MOI) in classrooms. Participants of the study are English teachers from various school levels in one province in Eastern Indonesia. This exploratory case study used a selfassessment survey as the single instrument. As a result, teachers have a positive perception toward English as the Medium of Instruction (MOI) as they believe it could improve students’ proficiency. However, some are hesitant and would rather have classes taught in a blend of their native language and English. This study implies that teachers should consider elements of high-quality instructions. This study suggests developing an institutional ELT policy to infuse MOI into classroom pedagogy.

English Language Imperative Level in Indonesia

In general, a language is a tool for communication that every people use, and as we know there are many languages especially in Indonesia. It is a regional or local language that people use for their daily activities with their family or with their local people, Indonesian language is an official language that people use on, the daily activities in formal places or with work partners. Indonesia's government has already made some regular or policy to manage language use also the regulation about English as a foreign language. But the use of the English language is not optimal especially in the world of education even though English has become the lingua franca in the world. For such a stance, the writer has no goal to blame any culture nor suggests that English culture is not meant to be learned. The writer concerns more with the idea that in learning English, the culture of learners is more urgent than English culture since the use of English is around peer communication. The awareness of English as an International language and as a language of science is responded with mandatory English teaching in Junior High school to the varsity level. However, with the status as a foreign language, English is occasionally used outside the classroom. Even during the class, instead of speaking English, the Indonesian students tend to speak in Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian Language) or their local language. For that, the writer gives some proposed solutions after analyzing some literature, The writer used the Systematic Literature Review framework from (Okoli, 2015) to perform this review of the literature

Pendampingan Sitasi Karya Ilmiah Mahasiswa Seni Tari FSD UNM Menggunakan Mendeley

Abstract Pendampingan mahasiswa Seni Tari Fakultas Seni dan Desain Universitas Negeri Makassar dihadiri sebanyak 34 orang, kegiatan ini berbentuk PKM dimana mitra pengabdian adalah mahasiswa semester akhir yang membutuhkan refreshment penggunaan Mendeley untuk kepentingan penyusunan skripsi. Metode yang digunakan adalah demonstrasi dan praktik terbimbing. Enam langkah pendampingan sitasi karya ilmiah telah dilaksanakan mulai dari pengenalan Mendeley, penyiapan artikel ilmiah, unduh Mendeley dan sinkronisasi Word, input artikel ilmiah ke Mendeley, sitasi karya ilmiah menggunakan Mendeley terakhir yaitu pembuatan daftar pustaka menggunakan Mendeley. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa mampu menggunakan Mendeley dengan baik sejalan dengan tujuan PKM menjaga kualitas tulisan karya ilmiah mahasiswa Seni Tari FSD UNM.

Improving students’ English speaking skills through short videos

This study aims to improve the English speaking skills of eighth-grade students of MTs Al Falaah Pandak using short videos to aid the learning process in which English is taught as a foreign language. The research was classroom action research with the subjects consisting of 30 eighth graders of MTs Al Falaah Pandak. This research utilized both the qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The qualitative approach to collecting the data was done through observations and interviews with the observation checklist and interview guidelines carefully designed as the instruments. The quantitative approach was done through a survey with questionnaires, field notes and tests as the instruments. The results indicated that using short videos as input in the teaching and learning of speaking can improve the students’ speaking skills, as shown by the students’ test results that improved gradually from cycle 1 to cycle 2. In cycle 1, the average score of the students’ speaking test was 65.8. This noticeably improved in cycle 2, where the average score was 75, showing an improvement by 9.2 points. Further implications and potential implementation of using short videos as input in the teaching and learning of speaking in EFL classes are discussed.

The Use of Hello English Application to Improve Students' Vocabulary of Junior High School.

This study aimed to improve the students’ vocabulary using English Hello Application. This design were classroom action research with four stages of two cycles. The subjects were 22 students from seventh grade students in a junior high school Sukoharjo. The researchers used three instruments to collect the data which were test, observation sheet, and questionnaire. The result showed that the students’ vocabulary could improve by using English Hello application from cycle I by 51.81 for the mean of pre-test result and 69.54 for the mean of post-test result. Cycle II was 78.63 for the mean of pre-test and 91.81 for the mean of post-test. The result of t-test in cycle I and cycle II were significant. In addition, the minimum completeness score of pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II increased significantly. Tari Padduppa adalah tarian penjemputan yang ada pada masyarakat Bugis, keberadaannya masih ada di tengah kehidupan meskipun digempur dengan nilai-nilai modern. Makalah ini akan membahas fungsi dan nilai-nilai pendidikan yang terkandung di dalam tari Padduppa pada masyarakat Bugis. PERAN DAN FUNGSI SELF-ACCESS LEARNING CENTER DI UNY

(Title: Role and Function of Self-Access Learning Center in UNY). This study aims to develop self-access reading materials for learning English independently. This research was conducted with the Research and Development model by following the steps: needs assessment, design and development, evaluation and revision, and a try out field. Data collected through questionnaires. There are three questionnaires used, namely for needs assessment, for expert judgment, and for field trials. Sample for needs assessment was taken by proportional quota sampling representing all faculties at UNY, while samples for the trial were taken purposively. The collected data was analyzed descriptively quantitatively. The results of the study showed that SAC UNY had not been widely known by students. Even after the introduction of online tutorials since 2015, the SAC is no longer visited by students. Thus the teaching materials developed should also be in the form of online. SAC socialization was also deemed necessary so that students were more familiar with the existence, function, and role of SAC in developing the English language skills of UNY students.
